Unwanted Solicitations
Many of you have called and asked what can be done about over aggressive, don’t take NO for an answer solicitors. I am referring to the folks that have been dropped off in a white van and visiting the neighborhood over the last week selling magazines. This group does not have a permit from the cities of Prior Lake or Savage to do door-to-door sales. And when asked for the permit or a phone number to call to verify the story they become hostile and aggressive commenting on what a “nice home you have.” The police have received hundreds of calls in both cities with complaints for the business practice. If you are approached please call the non-emergency police desk in your city. The departments are doing their best to drive these solicitors out. If you do not feel comfortable calling the police, just tell the solicitors that we have a policy of no-solicitation (door-to-door sales, they will tell you they don’t know what solicitation means) inside of the Windsor Scott Homeowners Association.
